UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS
====================

The firmware can be upgraded using Axis Camera Management, HTTP or FTP.
Please follow the instructions from the user's manual, the web page at
http://www.axis.com/techsup/cam_servers/how_to_upgrade.htm or the file named
howtoupgrade.txt.


Corrections in 5.40.9 since 5.40.4
==================================

5.40.9:C01  Modifier #t for event notification works as expected.

5.40.9:C02  GOV length 1 in combination with enabled User Data does not give 
            black image anymore.

5.40.9:C03  Guard Tour runs without stopping after a few hours.

5.40.9:C04  Custom schedules work as expected.

5.40.9:C05  Motion JPEG stream is no longer corrupted when rotated 90 and 270 degrees.

5.40.9:C06  Special characters in e-mail subject are now represented correctly.

5.40.9:C07  Frame size limit of Motion JPEG when saving to network drive works.

5.40.9:C08  HTTP port does not need to be specified when running RTP over 
            RTSP over HTTP.

Known Bugs/Limitations
======================

5.40.9:L01  It is recommended to unmount the SD Card before ejecting it.

5.40.9:L02  Recordings made with firmware earlier than 5.20 will not be readable
            on the SD Card from the 5.40 firmware. Backup important recordings and
            reformat the SD Card after the firmware upgrade.

5.40.9:L03  Stream Profiles are not associated with any particular View area. They
            are profiles that can be used with any view area. The View area is not
            saved with the Stream Profile.

5.40.9:L04  Remote back focus operation will be disabled when the temperature
            is too low. Information will be shown in system log.

5.40.9:L05  Check and repair is only available if the file system is ext4.

5.40.9:L06  Recording streams to SD Card with a total bit rate above 
            12Mbit/sec may cause missing frames/sequences.

5.40.9:L07  When using action rule resulting in short recordings, it is recommended
            to extend post-event time.

5.40.9:L08  With audio enabled, the initial connection latency is increased.

5.40.9:L09  Sometimes IR filter switches between ON/OFF after factory default when 
            illuminance is 7-10 lux.

5.40.9:L10  Color parameter when pulling RTSP stream with color=0 doesn't have effect.

5.40.9:L11  Sensor capture mode should be set during the initial product
            configuration as it affects the available resolutions. Changing it in 
            real time requires other resolution related configuration changes on the 
            camera and possibly a recording software. For example, if a resolution 
            that is not available for one capture mode is requested, the reply will 
            be "bad request".

5.40.9:L12  To get smoother H.264 video in Live view in 3MP and HDTV highest
            resolution, it may be necessary to disable both "Advanced video
            rendering" and "Enable overlays" in the Control Panel -> AXIS Media
            Control.

5.40.9:L13  Local recording playback fails when using Motion JPEG with resolution
            2048x1536 and associated audio. Workaround: Use H.264 instead.
