For example, members of the Domain Admins group were not identified as such and were only given access rights of the default group Users. 6.03.1:2 CIFS/SMB: Error message after domain installation Immediately after completing the network installation wizard for Windows (SMB), an error message could appear in the event log, stating that no trust account existed for the StorPoint and a new network installation was necessary. This could happen if the StorPoint created its trust account on one domain controller, and immediately thereafter tried to logon to another one. --------------------------------------------------------------------- New features in version 6.03: ============================= 6.03:1 Devices: Support for a number of new devices has been added For an up-to-date list of devices tested with the StorPoint CD+, please see www.axis.com/techsup/cdsrv/storpoint_cdp/. 6.03:2 Memory expansion: List of supported SDRAM modules updated For an up-to-date list of memory expansion modules, please see www.axis.com/techsup/cdsrv/storpoint_cdp/memory.htm. 6.03:3 SNMP: SNMP can be disabled To disable (or re-enable) SNMP simply click the "Enable SNMP" checkbox on Network Settings : Detailed View : SNMP on the admin web pages, or edit the config.ini file, and restart the StorPoint. 6.03:4 NetWare/PureIP: Four SLP Directory Agents The StorPoint can now be configured to register its services in up to four SLP Directory Agents. 6.03:5 Macintosh/AFP over TCP/IP: Improved throughput AFP over TCP/IP throughput has been improved; in some cases dramatically so. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Corrected problems in version 6.03: =================================== 6.03:6 NetWare: Connecting to NDS in large NetWare environments The StorPoint could sometimes fail to connect to NDS in large NetWare environments with a highly partitioned NDS tree, making it impossible to authenticate connecting users. 6.03:7 NetWare/PureIP: SLP service registration updates could fail In some situations the StorPoint would stop updating a Directory Agent about its services. The services were then removed by the Directory Agent, and NetWare/PureIP clients could no longer locate the StorPoint on the network. 6.03:8 NetWare/PureIP: Multiple SLP scopes and Directory Agents The StorPoint will now correctly register its services in all SLP scopes it has been configured with. 6.03:9 CD-R/RW: Parameter memory becoming full When writing CD-R/RWs while running CIFS/SMB in user-level security, the memory used for storing parameters could eventually become full. A Factory Default restore on Volume Properties was necessary to clear the parameter memory. 6.03:10 CD-R/RW: Shared drive for CD-R/RW devices A problem with users' access rights and shared drive mode for CD-R/RW devices has been resolved. It is now possible to use the shared drive functionality with CD-R/RW devices. 6.03:11 Macintosh/AFP: Finder locks up due to AFP packet loss The Macintosh Finder application in MacOS 9.x often locks up when AFP reply packets for Finder are lost, which could happen in situations of continuous high load on the StorPoint. The risk of such a packet loss has been reduced, thus improving Finder's stability when working with the StorPoint. --------------------------------------------------------------------- New features in version 6.02: ============================= 6.02:1 Devices: Support for a number of new devices has been added For an up-to-date list of devices tested with the StorPoint CD+, please see www.axis.com/techsup/cdsrv/storpoint_cdp/. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Corrected problems in version 6.02: =================================== 6.02:2 File System: Problems with shared drive functionality With the shared drive functionality enabled, users browsing one disc could sometimes see the contents of another disc. This could happen when discs were moved between shared drives or when partial caching or mirroring was enabled. 6.02:3 IDE: DMA for CD-R/RW devices could cause instability If DMA was enabled for a CD-R/RW device, writing with this device could cause the StorPoint to restart spontaneously. 6.02:4 SCSI: Mode setting for second bus for Dual SCSI products For Dual SCSI products, the mode of the second SCSI bus would default to, and remain at Ultra regardless of the setting of the first bus. Changes on bus A mode will now automatically cause bus B to change mode as well. 6.02:5 CIFS/SMB: "Non-standard" NBT ports were not supported We now support CIFS/SMB clients that send NBT name service requests on ports other than the "standard" port used by Microsoft Windows. 6.02:6 CIFS/SMB: StorPoint's domain trust account password expired The StorPoint's domain trust account password would expire, leaving the StorPoint unable to authenticate users in user- level security mode. The password is now changed regularly to prevent this situation from occurring. 6.02:7 NetWare: The volume list was not updated correctly The volume list presented to NetWare clients was not updated correctly when cached discs were deleted, group folders were removed, or a disc was replaced with one having the same name. 6.02:8 NetWare/IPX: Retransmissions were not handled correctly If NetWare Open File requests were retransmitted over IPX by a client, the StorPoint would allocate new resources for each retransmission. These resources were not deallocated since the client issues only a single Close File request. This could lead to resource exhaustion in situations of continuous high load. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Known problems in version 6.02: =============================== 6.02:9 File System: Shared drive for CD-R/RW device Problems with users' access rights can occur when enabling shared drive mode for a CD-R/RW device when running CIFS/SMB in user-level security. It is therefore not recommended to use the shared drive functionality with CD-R/RW devices. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Corrected problems in version 6.01.1: ===================================== 6.01.1:1 Devices: Identification problems with some DVD-ROM devices The DVD-ROM drives Pioneer DVD-500M and Benq DVP-1648A were sometimes not identified by the StorPoint at start-up. --------------------------------------------------------------------- New features in version 6.01: ============================= 6.01:1 Devices: Support for a number of new devices has been added For an up-to-date list of devices tested with the StorPoint CD+, please see www.axis.com/techsup/cdsrv/storpoint_cdp/. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Corrected problems in version 6.01: =================================== 6.01:2 Stability: Improved stability when network load is very high If the network load was constantly very high, the StorPoint could eventually restart spontaneously. --------------------------------------------------------------------- New features in version 6.00: ============================= 6.00:1 Performance: Enhanced overall performance Running on the latest generation of the Axis ETRAX chip family, the ETRAX 100LX, and with PC100 SDRAM memory, this firmware achieves a significant increase in performance compared to previous versions. 6.00:2 Memory Expansion: SDRAM module support Expanding the memory of the StorPoint CD+ is easily achieved by installing a standard 168 pin SDRAM PC100 or PC133 module. Please visit http://www.axis.com/techsup/cdsrv/storpoint_cdp/memory.htm for an up-to-date list of tested SDRAM modules. 6.00:3 CIFS/SMB: Support for Windows 2000 native domains When installed in a Windows 2000 domain, the StorPoint CD+ automatically joins Active Directory. Both native and mixed mode domains are supported. 6.00:4 NetWare: StorPoint CD+ supports NetWare 6 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Best regards, Axis Communications AB
