AXIS Print Utility for Windows ============================= The AXIS Print Utility is a dual purpose application for network printing in a Windows environment. The functions performed by the AXIS Print Utility are: 1. Install and maintain Print Server ports as Windows printer ports. 2. Capture and monitor print jobs directed to Print Servers. Requirements ============ AXIS Print Utility can be used with Windows, Windows for Workgroups, Windows 95 and Windows NT 3.5 and above. The network support requirements are: * Windows: LAN Server/LAN Manager Workstation Service * Windows for Workgroups: Microsoft Network (NetBIOS/NetBEUI) * Windows 95: Microsoft Network (NetBIOS/NetBEUI) * Windows NT: Microsoft Network (NetBIOS/NetBEUI) Print Manager must be activated in both cases. How to print with the AXIS Print Utility ======================================== Peer-to-Peer printing: ---------------------- 1. Install the AXIS Print Utility as described below. 2. Install your Print Servers to make them available as Windows ports. 3. Connect your printers using the Control Panel. Your network printers are now available from any Windows application. Client-Server printing: ----------------------- 1. Choose a workstation to operate as server. 2. Install the AXIS Print Utility and your Print Servers on the server. 3. Use the Print Manager's "Share" function to make the network printers available to other users ("clients"). How to install the AXIS Print Utility for Windows ================================================= 1. Run A:\INSTALL from Program Manager and follow the instructions on the screen. 2. The installation program will create an AXIS Print Utility group. Double-click the AXIS Print Utility icon to start the program. 3. Choose Help for instructions on how to use the AXIS Print Utility. Important: ========= AXIS Print Utility must be running when you print through your Network Print Server. We strongly recommend that you copy the AXIS Print Utility icon into your Startup folder.
