Assigning camera address and "Device ID".
A camera address must already be assigned to a Cohu PTZ device before using it with this driver (the Cohu PTZ device have no DIP-switches for assigning camera addresses).
"Joystick" navigation and "continuouspantiltmove".
NOTE! The continuouspantilt movements (e.g joystick control) may stall or block the tilt moter when tilting down. This may damage the unit! Check that a continuous tilt down movement do not block or stall the tilt moter (tilt down and check that the tilt movement stops by itself before blocking). If the tilt movement will block, try to contact Cohu support and ask if it is possible to upgrade the firmware in the Cohu unit to avoid the stall/block of the tilt down movement. If it is not possible to upgrade the firmware and avoid the stall/block of the tilt down movement, then it is probably not possible to use the continuous pantilt movement command without problems!
Tilt limits and tilt calibration.
NOTE! The mechanical tilt limits("Up" and "Down", see below) and the tilt calibration parameters("Tilt steps offset" and "Tilt steps per unit", see below) are model dependent. The default values are tested with a Cohu iVIEW 3950 model. With different models, these settings may need to be recalibrated. While calibrating, be careful not to exceed the movement specifications of the unit!
Movement limits and continuous tilt
The movement limits for tilt are not 100% realiable when set close to the mechanical limits.
Limits for "Zoom tele" and digital zoom.
NOTE! If digital zoom is not supported, set the limit for "Zoom tele" = 9999 (see below), otherwise zoom movements may result in unpredictable behaviour.
Manual focus and zoom move.
A zoom move will set autofocus=on. After a zoom move, a short delay is required before a manual focus move is possible.
Presets saved in the Cohu PTZ unit and digital zoom.
When saving a preset in the Cohu PTZ unit (device presets), the digital zoom position is not saved (e.g. device presets are only saved in optical zoom area).
Preset positions.
When saving a preset position, only pan, tilt and zoom positions are saved in the preset.

Extended Driver Specific Settings
Parameter Description Range
Tilt steps offset The calibration constant for the horizontal tilt position. Higher values give a higher tilt position. Calibrate by confirming that a horizontal tilt request (i.e. "tilt=0") will result in a horizontal tilt position. 0-2050
Tilt steps per unit The calibration constant for the tilt movement. Higher values give bigger tilt movements. If the tilt scale is known, calculate this parameter value as 1000 * "tilt steps/degree". Calibrate by confirming that a tilt request (e.g. "rtilt=-45") will result in a correct tilt movement. 1-100000
Focus time The calibration constant for focus (time in ms for maximum focus change). Higher values give greater focus changes. Calibrate by confirming that a maximum focus request (i.e. "rfocus=9999") at one extreme (e.g. focus near) takes you to the other. 1-65535
Iris time Calibration constant for iris (time in ms for maximum iris change). Higher values give greater iris changes. Calibrate by confirming that a maximum iris request (e.g. "riris=9999") at one extreme (e.g. full iris close) takes you to the other. 1-65535
Field angle compensation Calibration constant for click-in-picture (center) movements when using lenses with non linerar zoom scale. Higher values give smaller pan/tilt movements. First calibrate the "Min field angle" and the "Max field angle" limits(see above) and then zoom in half way (optical, i.e. "zoom=5000"). Calibrate by confirming that clicking on an object brings the object to the center of the image. -100-100
Goto preset delay Time (in seconds) it takes for the image to stabilize it self, after the camera has performed the longest "goto device preset action". Used for disabling/enabling image analysis (e.g. motion detection). Note that this does not apply for server presets. 0-100
Optical data
Min field angle   1-1000
Max field angle   1-1000

The optical data limits are used to tune image centering:
  1. Zoom out completely and adjust Max Field Angle until the spot you click becomes centered accurately.
  2. Zoom in completely(optical only, i.e. "zoom=9999") and repeat for Min Field Angle.
  3. For a non linear zoom scale, calibrate the parameter "Field angle compensation".
