Lund 930602 PROGRAM LOAD INSTRUCTIONS FOR HP-MIO BOARD This is how you should proceed to load the HP-MIO software into the FLASH prom on the HP-MIO board. 1. Short circuit the jumper marked FLASH DWNLD placed beside the Centronics connector on the HP-MIO board. Insert the card into the HP printer. 2. Copy all files from this directory to a subdirectory on your PC hard disk or floppy disk. Connect a standard Centronics cable (AXIS part number 13133) to LPT1 on you PC and connect the other end of the same cable to the HP-MIO board PARALLEL pc-host input. 3. Switch on the printer. The printer will start and show a service error message on the frontpanel. Don't be alarmed about this, it is normal and should happen. 4. Change the current directory to the directory you previously copied the HP-MIO files to. Start the batch file named FLASH.BAT on your PC. The SYSTEM and PC-SHARE led on the HP-MIO board should start to flash. One file will be copied by the batch file from you PC to the HP-MIO board. When the file is copied the green SYSTEM led on the HP-MIO board starts to flash slowly. When this happens all is done and in order. 5. Switch off the printer and remove the previously installed FLASH DWNLD jumper from the HP-MIO board. Insert the board into the printer again and switch on the printer. The printer should start normally and after a while go ON-LINE. Now the programming is finished and nothing else has to be done. 6. If you like to check that the correct program has been loaded, start a parameter list printout using the frontpanel (se users manual) and check the program date and revision on the first page. The programming procedure above could be repeated an infinite number of times, since no special erase of the FLASH prom has to be done. Don't be afraid to do something wrong. If you do, just start over from the beginning and try again. Axis Comunications AB
