NEW SOFTWARE RELEASE ==================== Products involved: Axis 5470e Release date: Jun 2, 2003 Release type: Production Release Software version: 6.33 File size: Axis 5470e 1 600 694 bytes Last preceding release: Axis 5470e 6.30 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Contact Information ==================== Please contact Axis Communications for product information, updates and support at: http://www.axis.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- Added features in version 6.33 ============================== In Netware networks, using Q-mode over IPX, support for walk-the-tree is added. Now the Print Server resolves the name of the queue-volume even if the volume resides on a file server without any replica in the NDS tree. '-' and '_' is now allowed in TN5250e/TN3270e DNS host names. Form feed (FF) commands in SCS printouts will be discarded if the page is blank and the 'Suppress FF in blank pages (SCS)' parameter is set to Yes. Corrected problems in version 6.33 ================================== A static IP-address can now be set using arp/ping also when DHCP is enabled. The DHCP-option domain-name is corrected, the domain name parameter is updated. The Bitronics negotiation routines are improved. Reverse data reading is improved for several printer models, e.g. Ricoh AP 2600N and Ricoh 1018. Printer connectivity is improved, situations which earlier resulted in connection loss is now resolved, e.g. problems where it seems that the printer is stuck in sleep mode, is now resolved without the need to restarting the print server. The serial port driver, for multiport print servers, is updated in order to resolve problems with stability and performance, specifically reading data from the serial port. The ERROR: 30010 problem is resolved, now the Print Server interprets this as "STATUS BUFFER OVERFLOW". The "Processing Job"-error is corrected. On certain printers, this problem occured as intermittent messages showing Processing Job on the printer display. This error might also interrupt printing. The handling of split TN3270e records, where the EOR (FF EF) or a part of the EOR is sent in a separate packet, is improved. Using a host name in stead of an IP-address in a TN5250e/TN3270e hostname parameter is now working after rebooting the print server. Multiple IPDS PPR/PPD sessions is now working. Known problems in version 6.33 ============================== HP WebJetadmin is neither tested nor supported with this release. Succesful paralell-port "flash-loading" might require two, or more attempts in some cases. Support for Checksums in Netware is not implemented. Reverse data from the APS ports is disabled. Users are recommended to use the native print monitor on Win2000/XP.
