The propriatory Axis Print Profile (APP) is supported for Bluetooth printing. This profile will enable full printer/job status reporting from the printer to the client computer running the Axis Wireless Printing Utility client software. Bluetooth Software Suite 1.07 or later must be installed on the client computer prior to installing Axis Wireless Printing Utility. PCMCIA cards supported includes Motorola, IBM, NEC and Toshiba. Up to two APP printers are available to clients, depending on the number of printers connected to the AXIS 5800 Mobile. 2. Clients implementing the Object Push Profile (OPP) will be able to print to the AXIS 5800 Mobile. Printer/job status reporting to the OPP client will be nonexistent or very limited due to lack of bidirectional printing support in the Object Push Profile. Up to two OPP printers are available to clients, depending on the number of printers connected to the AXIS 5800 Mobile. 3. Objects that can be printed from the Ericsson R520 mobile phone includes contact information, phone lists, SMS messages, e-mails and calendar information. The attached printer must support PCL4 or later PCL versions. Detailed description of changes in cable LAN support in the 6.20 release compared to older print server releases: 1. The print server can now send an e-mail to a predecided e-mail address when the connected printer enters a state (paper jam, out of toner, etc.) that needs human intervention. 2. In ECP mode, the print server can now report status to the client even if the printer stalls. If necessary, the reverse data can also be turned off for port LPT1 and LPT2. 3. The print server now supports IP address setting using SLP. This means that the new Axis IP setting tool IP JumpStarter to set the IP address of the print server. 4. The print server can now communicate with full duplex on both 10 MBs and 100 MBs networks. 5. The secret node address setting method that was supported by earlier version of print server firmware has been removed. 6. The internal print server parameters can now be stored in UTF-8 directly. 7. The print server hardware ID is now stored in the flash. 8. The firmware image file is now compressed using the well known method ZIP. Therefore uncompression is needed at print server startup. The safe flash loading minimizes the probability of failure during flash loading. 9. The parameters in the print server are now stored in the flash instead of as earlier in EEPROM. 10. The value for the AppleTalk parameters Printer Type and Binary Protocol is now set automatically at the print server startup. 11. The print server internal homepage can now be presented in English, German, French or Spanish. 12. The print server firmware can now be upgraded using the print server internal homepage. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Appendix B - SOFTWARE LIMITATIONS App B Product involved : AXIS 5800 Mobile Software version : 6.20 1. During the first 45 seconds it might not be possible to connect to the print server using TCP because of the fact that both protocols need time to start. 2. If two printers are connected to the print server in AppleTalk environment, and the printer connected to LPT1 has errors, then the printer connected to LPT2 might not work correctly. 3. Bluetooth multipoint, scatternet and master-slave switch not supported. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Appendix C - AFFECTED MATERIAL App C Product involved: AXIS 5800 Mobile Software version : 6.20 The User's Manual version 1.0 and Quick Start guide version 1.0 fully describe the features of this software release. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
